HOLY SATURDAY REFLECTION

After Holy Thursday and Good Friday, there’s a certain emptiness on Holy Saturday. It makes me think about how the Apostles must have felt, totally lost and in despair. It’s a good thing Jesus didn’t stay in the tomb a week! Who knows what might have happened. As it was, they got a couple bewildered nights’ sleep and were probably just thinking “what now?” Then Jesus appears and they begin the greatest movement in human history! Knowing the rest of the story, we can rest and even enjoy the emptiness of Holy Saturday. It’s a reminder that “our hearts are empty until they rest in You.” I hope you all have blessed and happy Easter!

Christmas is Awesome!

Consider what we celebrate today: The Creator of the universe took on a human body out of love for us, so that we may have eternal life! Reflecting on the incarnation and its implications does not make me feel “merry”, but rather fills me with awe.

So, on this Christmas Day, I wish you an Awesome Christmas!

“And the Word became flesh
and made his dwelling among us,
and we saw his glory,
the glory as of the Father’s only Son,
full of grace and truth.” Jn 1: 14
